Mazda MX-5 NC 1.8 Stage 1 Dyno Tuning – 150HP

Dyno day with a Mazda MX-5 NC 1.8 that arrived with an incorrect intake setup causing fuel trims to exceed 30%. After correcting the airflow readings and restoring proper fuel trims, we proceeded with a full Stage 1 ECU calibration.

Dyno Results

  • Initial Measurement: 136HP / 170Nm
  • After Stage 1 Calibration: 150HP / 186Nm
  • Total Gain: +14HP / +16Nm

The calibration focused on correcting fuel trims, optimizing ignition timing and refining throttle response. With proper airflow modeling and balanced AFR, the engine now delivers smoother power delivery and stronger mid-range torque while maintaining reliability.
