This Mazda MX-5 NC 2.0 Forged equipped with a Cosworth turbo setup arrived with severe calibration inconsistencies. Boost control, fueling and ignition strategy required complete restructuring. The calibration was rebuilt from the ground up on our in-house dyno.
Initial Issues
- AFRs fluctuating across the rev range
- Incorrect ignition advance under load

Calibration Process
- Fuel maps corrected for accurate target lambda across full load/RPM range
- Ignition timing optimized near MBT while maintaining safe knock margins
- Throttle mapping refined for progressive and predictable response
- Boost control stabilized for consistent delivery at 0.4 bar

Final Dyno Output (DIN 70020)
Power: 247HP @ 6832 RPM
Torque: 281Nm @ 5176 RPM
The result is stable AFR control, optimized ignition strategy and broad, consistent torque delivery from 3000 to 6500 RPM. Smooth and linear power makes the car suitable for both daily road use and sustained track sessions.
