FAQ — DMS Tuned NC Turbo Kit
Q1. What’s the expected power output on a stock 2.0 L NC engine, and is it safe for daily driving?
At 0.4 bar the setup produces around 230 hp, while at 0.7 bar it reaches 280 hp. Both levels are safe for daily use on stock internals.
Q2. Does the kit require any internal engine modifications?
No. Up to 0.7 bar, the engine can remain completely stock — no internal modifications required.
Q3. What ECU tuning platform is used?
The system runs on the factory ECU using MazdaEdit Lite, included with the kit along with the required cable and calibration.
Q4. Is the ECU map custom or base?
Each turbo kit includes a tailor-made custom calibration developed individually for every car.
Q5. How is the tuning process handled?
We provide detailed instructions for installing MazdaEdit and reading your ECU file. You’ll send us the readout, and we’ll supply a correct start-up file and guide you through the logging process.
Q6. What boost level does Stage 1 run on a 2.0 L engine?
Stage 1 operates at 0.7 bar of boost.
Q7. Are the injectors, MAP sensor, and fuel pump pre-calibrated in the tune?
Yes. All components are fully pre-calibrated for plug-and-play operation.
Q8. How does the turbo spool and power delivery feel?
At low boost it feels like a strong naturally aspirated engine. Around 0.7 bar, torque builds from 2,500 rpm and pulls hard to 7,000 rpm. Beyond 1 bar, the response and acceleration are comparable to a supercar.
Q9. Is any cutting or welding required?
Only a 70 mm round hole is needed behind the crash bar for the hot-side intercooler pipe. Everything else bolts on directly.
Q10. Does it fit both LHD and RHD cars?
The kit has been tested on LHD models only.
Q11. Who manufactures the manifold and downpipe?
Both the v-band top-mount manifold and the 3″ downpipe are produced by the Kraken team.
Q12. Can I retain air conditioning and power steering?
Yes. Both systems remain fully functional.
Q13. What type of intercooler core is used?
A bar-and-plate high-efficiency intercooler core.
Q14. Does the downpipe connect to the stock exhaust?
Yes. It’s a direct fit to the OEM mid-pipe with no modification required.
Q15. What clutch is recommended for Stage 2 setups?
A Stage 3 six-puck clutch is recommended for higher power levels.
Q16. Do you offer installation?
Yes. Installation and calibration can be performed at DMS Tuned for €600, with a typical turnaround of one week.
Q17. Can it pass emissions or MOT inspection?
Yes, provided your exhaust system includes a catalytic converter.
Q18. Do you provide warranty or support?
Yes. We fully support our product with post-sale tuning assistance and technical guidance with 1 year warranty in all parts.
Q19. What’s the shipping cost within Europe?
A flat rate of €100 applies to all European deliveries.
Q20. When are the kits available?
Kits are ready for delivery.
